i am fairly new to the world aluminum necked guitars, i have been blown away by the tone and resonance the metal provides an electric guitar. i want to encorporate that sound into my guitar style, but i exclusively use an acoustic guitar (i use distortion and an poly-ochtave pedal, so a 'traditional' acoustic tone is not exactly what i go for) an aquantance of mine, may be able to build one, but has obviosly never done anything like this before. does anyone out there know of an aluminum necked acoustic? does anyone know how one would attatch the neck? any theories on exactly how it would sound?

I have the answer to your dreams.It is about 25 years old and mint.I have an old metal neck Applause(by Ovation)that was made in Moosup Connecticut.It is spruce top and ovation back bowl that resonates wonderfully because the metal neck transfers sound to the body. I was in L.A. and stumbled upon this red hot new concept.Every Luthier makes a fretted wooden neck,but machining a neck of metal is truly rare.If interested =kochm12@yahoo. com
