Style of Music: Instrumental Math Rock

Similar in shape to the EGC Custom and the TB 500. The body and horns were reshaped a bit and front and back relief cuts were added. The standard Series One has no pick guard, but I requested it, and Kevin didn’t have a problem making one. I also requested no tone knobs, black stain finish, metal knobs and metal pickup covers. Durability: Built like a tank. Lighter than my TB 1000s, but still heavy and well constructed. I can’t see these guitars having the stress crack problems I have read about concerning the TB 500’s. Body is constructed of 1 solid piece of Alder wood, and the neck is firmly connected to the body.
Tone: Exactly what I was looking for from a single coil aluminum guitar. Bright, clear, chimmy tone, with plenty of bite. I was having a hard time getting a clean, yet aggressive tone with my Travis Bean 1000S, due to the hot Humbuckers.
Playability: No problem adjusting to the thin neck. Easier to play faster riffs compared to the thicker Bean neck. Slight problem playing some of the tapping parts in our songs as neck tends slope down for some reason while tapping. It's not an issue of balance, as I have seen with the Kramer aluminum bass the bass player in our band plays. The neck on that bass is heavier than the body, and the neck tends to point downwards if you just let it hang off your body. The Series One is balanced, and I will probably be able to adjust to it after playing it more and more.
Craftsmanship: Amazing, to put it simply. I was amazed at the look of this guitar when I opened the case. The black stain finish looks beautiful. The plate on the back is recessed, and black powder coated. The machined aluminum is flawless and polished to a mirror finish. #195 is etched on the back of the headstock and the back plate.
Overall: Highly recommended. Not a cheap guitar, but worth every penny. Plan on waiting a bit after ordering one. Mine took 4 months from date of order to completion, but I can’t complain on the end result. Again, I was truly blown away when I opened the case. Came with a high quality Fender flight case, and the shipping was included in the price. Kevin was a pleasure to deal with and will meet your custom needs.
