Anyone in the UK looking for a new take on the metal neck thing might want to take a look here:

I just had Pete build me a beautiful hollowbody bass with an old Kramer neck.

It sounds amazing. The neck and the bridge are linked by a strong complicated alu structure, but the pickups float free on the outside of the body. Would anyone be offended if I said it sounded as good as my Travis Bean (albeit having even more sustain and a bit less bite)?
