Style of Music: My style could be cosidered 1/2 'jam-band', 1/2 jazz. Very much influenced by Jerry Garcia and jimi Hendrix. I enjoy a sparling, clean and hi-fidelity tone. No hiding behind distortion with this guitar!
Comments: tone very much like a strat. The single coils are VERY transparent and unlike the other Bean models, the 500 is quite light. I give it an 8 for durability because these guitars are notorious for hairline cracks where the neck meets the body. I am blessed to own one without this issue, but compared to an artist, they are much lighter and as such seem a bit fragile. If you play aggresively and bend the neck at times, you risk cracking the neck joint. Very much sounding like a strat, the pickups are transparent and hot. The flat radius is a beautiful feel and these aluminum necks are like no other. If you are lucky enough to own a 500, you are in rare company. The tone is immaculate and while it looks like any old guitar, that could not be further from the truth. A VERY special guitar indeed
