Comments: I just bought a DMZ4001. The Dimarzio Pickup has been replaced by the previous owner with a Seymour Duncan Baselines "Quarter Pounder". This bass is heavy! But it plays great and sounds fantastic. It has a distinct mid range growl that gives it a more aggressive tone than most other basses. I believe this comes from the maple body along with the aluminum neck. This is a quality instrument and I'm amazed that they sell as cheap as they sometimes do. I would easily expect to pay far more for a bass this well made.
