Comments: I have EGC #163, an HT Custom bass. Without a doubt, this is one of the best basses I have played. The craftmanship that Kevin puts into his instruments has been discussed in other places, but this a very well built bass, with none of the irregularities mentioned in the other review. This bass was 9-4-07 carved nexted to the serial number.
Sound wise, this bass has amazing sustain, and is much louder than any other bass I've played. Through my V4-B going into two 1x15s, I can get a great growly tone much like other well known players who use TB2000s or 4000s. With the volume lower, it produces a really beautiful, full sound, almost piano like.
I don't have any problem with the weight as I've previously been playing a heavy MIJ Fender P-Bass and a Kramer 450b. I haven't had any neck dive problems, as I use a wide leather strap. I threw some heavier strings than were on there when I got it (heavy gauge GHS boomers), and the action is perfect.
I'm holding onto my P-Bass and letting go of the Kramer, as I can't imagine a situation were I'm going to need a different bass anytime soon.
