Style of Music: Indie/Post rock as well as heavier noisecore and metal

Comments: Matt Bastin does really phenomenal work. His attention to detail is second to none and the craftsmanship of his current offerings is through the roof. With his recent move to radiused fretboards and larger frets his guitars have become the best playing instruments I have come across in a long time. My Bastin story actually goes quite a ways back. I have a friend in a band called Sawhorse (www.myspace.com/sawhorsefamily) who has a TB1000s. I sqw him play it a few times and it sounded excellent and looked really cool too. So I went looking around for a metal neck guitar. As Beans are pushing $5000 and up nowadays I looked at the two similar offerings from current builders — EGC and Bastin. I vastly preferred the looks and style of the Bastin to the EGC offerings so I sent Matt an email. As it turned out the guitar I liked the most on his web site was for sale. So I bought it in January of 2009. It would have been absolutely perfect had UPS not damaged it in shipping and put a pair of cracks in the body. So I sent it back to Matt and while repairs were attempted they ended up not working out like I had hoped. Part of that was not Matt's fault at all as he has finishing work on wood instruments done by another company. Fast forward several months and Matt offered to give me a refund on my purchase if I wasn't happy. Because I loved the original guitar so much I suggested that he build me a replacement from his new line as I didn't want to go to another company. So in a few weeks Matt finished up a Chrome plated Zero-One with Seymour Duncan Phat Cats, a 20" radius neck, and jumbo frets. The resulting guitar is lighter and thinner than the original Bastin Sport and every bit as nice in the playability and tone departments. It also makes a good mirror. I absolutely recommend Matt's work to anyone who wants a great aluminum instrument.

Style of Music: I currently play guitar for "Death In The Park"

Comments: This is an amazingly structured guitar capable of producing amazing tones. The guitar is well built and VERY durable. It survived tour without a single problem or malfunction. The only downside of this guitar is the weight, but the tone definitely compensates for that. With this guitar, Bastin lives up to his motto to provide musicians with a high-quality, stylish product at the apex of tone and playability.
