Comments: The aluminum neck gives it that special tone, better attack and sustain than wood necks. Mine is from 1981. Had to replace the input jack, one fret got loose and raised a bit, no problem for the luthier. This guitar is heavy. Neck dive is a fact but one gets used to it. Could be a problem for those who play fast and very complicated licks because you need to hold the neck to keep it from diving. All in all my favorite bass, and I play it live regularly (70 gigs/a), and our gigs are 3-4h long. Use it for recording, too.

Comments: Best bass I've played hands down. Only complaint is the neck dive, but super solid bass.

Comments: This was and is my Baby, built to last and the sound is so incredible, Definitely had a comfy strap. Still in incredibly beautiful condition. Now she languishes in her case more than not, but I still take her out every now and then to let her know she's still loved.

Style of Music: Rock (the harder the better), blues, jazz, experimental. I am usually a guitarist, but I like to play them thick strings, too.

Comments: This bass was completely disassembled when I got it, which is why it was so cheap. I bought it to fix it up and sell it, but once I played it, I couldn't part with it. This ax is pretty beat up. The machine heads were bent up, and I broke one when I tried to straighten them out, so they have been replaced. Even in it's beat up condition, most people find this bass to be cooler than the Washburn headless bass I have. Bass players I know have a hard time putting it down once they pick it up. Bright tone, very hot pickups, and the nicest playing neck of any guitar I have owned.

Comments: This is my baby and it's a tried and true warrior - took out an entire drum set with just a wee gouge in the back by the access plate! Always in tune, always loud and great for any and all effects you throw at it. Sustain like a hurricane. Others are okay, but never as glorious. God I love this bass.

Comments: Purchased mine brand new for around $400 including case. Still one of my favorite basses. Great sustain and tone. It's neck heavy for sure. Needs to be room temp to stay in tune more so than wooden neck basses. No big deal. Mine is still in close to mint condition. Will never sell it...

Comments: It's built like a tank. Mine is beautiful oak with the maple skunk stripes. Great sounding P & J pickup configuration. Mine is fretless, which is harder for me to play since I am primarily a guitar player. Neck heavy, of course, because of the long scale. Get a comfy strap. Very versatile, if not the most versatile I have ever owned, because of the pickup configuration and switches.
