Comments: overall its a great guitar. it looks absolutly beautiful. natual finish, black pick guard, cream pick up covers. the craftmanship is amazing. tough as old boots as well. great playing neck, although i have to agree that it takes sometime time to get used to. considering its called the custom 500, perhaps a bean neck profile should be the default shape rather than the veleno one, as people are after this guitar probably because they cant get an actual tb500 bean, but as i say, really nice once your used to it. however the frets should be dressed and smoothed at the edge. i cannot understand why it is the case that they are not. im having them sorted as soon as possible as it is just not very nice compared to smooth edges. this is probably down to personal taste though.

i had problems with a lot of string choke at first. killed the top 3 strings so they werent sustaining even when open. thicker strings were needed. however when thicker strings were added the sustain is quite unbelieve - couldnt believe how long the strings were ringing out for. however this has considerably affected the playability, as i like slinky's. basically the nut needs work and the whole thing needs a set up, but as i say you will be truly shocked when its doing what its meant to - wow, what a sound. oh, and it stays in tune really really well. better than my bean. I wish the neck pick up was as high to the strings as the treble one.The pick ups are VERY powerful. ive had them breaking up a dr103 which is very impressive. nice sound, clearer than most, but i dont find them to be particularly the clearest of the clear to be honest. my 1000a's pick ups are much clearer and 'pingy'. its hard to explain as they are very present sounding, but they some how cut some of the high's that my bean gets. its a bit liked they are being smoothed off or masked. i get the impression that actual tb500 pick ups are clearer from the people ive talked to. you can hear that the highs are there and just cant fight through on my egc. prefer my bean 1000 pick ups to be honest. dont get me wrong the egc ones sound great but they certainly dont sound quite as great as bean pick ups, and this is strange becasue singles are usually clearer than humbuckers. i understand that the pick ups are not exact copies of a 500 pick up but just based on them, so this would explain that. ive heard someone else's egc 500 on the electrical website so i dont think its just my one that sounds this way. they definatly have their own sound, and it is a great one, but a 1000 bean will still probably get you closer to a tb500 sound than this will. bear that in mind kids. overall though, i really think its an amazing guitar despite what ive said, i just think someone needs to mention these things. i will never sell mine. its is absolutly brilliant, and agree with the great things other people have said. Also i cant imagine a better communication with a company than i have had with kevin. amazing. the guy is just a completly stand up motherfucker, and i think this company should get some kind of award for greatness. im very interested in trying the all aluminium 500. ive heard that it smokes a bean.
again my review is only not a ten because if you think your going to get a bean tone you will get in the same ball park but you might be in completly different seats. not a bad thing, just not what i expected.
