I need some help tracking down a treble side tuner for my Lumie Vanguard bass. This was before Kramer used Schaller M4 tuners. I assumed they were Gotoh (the mounting hole is at 6 o'clock) but every aftermarket tuner I've tried has too large of a bushing (14mm) and won't fit the neck hole. So I'm now forced to look for an original tuner. I know this is a shot in the dark but after a month of frustration, that seems to be my only hope. These were made in Japan and had a 8mm shaft and used a 12mm bushing. A need a single treble side tuner, or I'll take a complete set if you've got em.

Even if it's only have a possible lead to a tuner that might fit...PLEASE help a brotha out!

Thank you in advance!

Hi Q Ball
My problem is similar.
I'm looking for a replacement bridge for a Kramer 450G, or parts of the bridge, especially a saddle.
If you can find a dealer for old parts,
It would be nice to post the contact details
I will also inform you if I find something.
Good luck

Hey Rammer!

I feel your pain brotha...I too own a 45G and went through the rebuild/refurb process. I can somewhat help in the bridge parts department though. I bought a box of stainless steel 4/40 x 1.25" socket head screws used for the saddle length adjustment. Let me know if you need any.

I seem to be down to two less than appealing options: 1) drill my neck for Schaller M4 tuner hold down screw locations and have a extra set of holes show. OR 2) Enlarge the tuner holes in my headstock from the current .490 to .562 which would then fit the newer Gotoh tuner bushings. I feel the second option might weaken the headstock as there isn't much extra material available to the outer edge of the holes.

Hey Q-Ball
At the moment I use an old telecaster saddle. But that's not the same.
They are slightly smaller. And made of steel, not brass.
Last week I met a metal worker.
He has a CNC milling machine and maybe he can copy the original Saddles.

I've seen similar tuner. They were mounted on cheap Japan
Jazz Bass and SG-bass copies from the 70s. Such as C.G.Winner, Masters or Aria.
Maybe you can find a model of that time.
In the 70s there were not many factories in Japan.
Most Japanese copies were built from parts which also used from American manufacturers.
The 450G bridge was not built in Japan.

Good luck, I'll keep my eyes open
