Hi,
anyone have any info on this guitar ? i've been trying to research them but can't really find anything beyond vintage kramer and a review here. Just wondering if anyone could tell me the quality of these compared to other Kramers, be much appreciated.

Thanks

The XKG-20 is a great guitar. Built like a tank, with a pretty versatile single humbucker. I have 2, a white one and a natural maple w/oak stripes. Both look almost new, and will certainly outlive me. Among the last of the entirely american made Kramer guitars, made with high quality control, and I doubt that you could be disappointed in it. Fit, finish and looks are exceptional.

Caution, make sure neck joint is good and the neck is not loose. The neck is heavy, and careless people can ruine the joint thru carelessness and mishandling, and also the fact that they are simply being 25 years old. The Cracks can be repaired, and reletively cheaply, but they may be there. The price is usually pretty resonable, since the single hum is considered by some to be a drawback, and the body shape, while beautiful, is not as popular as others.

Just my 2c worth

Thanks for the info, Rik. I know I want one now & don't really mind that it's only got the one pickup as I only ever use the bridge p/u. Now to track one down on ebay! :)

Shame. It was $250 more than they usually go for.!

Yeah in my limited opinion, it did seem pretty steep! I'd set a maximum bid of $512 and I was pretty shocked when it went for so much. Plus I would've had to spend approx. $200 on postage to UK so i'm just gonna keep my eyes open & bid on anything that comes up.
